On November 14 and 15, Rio de Janeiro hosted an important international meeting: the V20 Summit Brasil 2024.
The event brought together global business leaders, policymakers, social activists, academics and thinkers from various fields. All driven by the same goal: to debate values and solutions to global challenges such as the Ecological Transition, Evolutionary Education, Inclusive Leadership, Digital Ethics and Artificial Intelligence. These are topics that directly relate to the work of the Tellescom Foundation and reflect our commitment to crucial issues such as Education and Social Urbanism. So supporting Values Move and taking part in this major event was really an important step in broadening our horizons and the scope of our actions.
In the field of education, discussions focused on areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Technoethics and Regenerative Education. This has brought valuable contributions to one of the main pillars of our work: the continuing education of public school teachers and their training in the use of innovative technologies. Recent data from the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (Inep) show that only 50% of educators in Brazil had access to regular training programs in 2023.
Our commitment is to promote initiatives that can reverse this situation, seeking at the same time to improve the quality of teaching and prepare teachers for the challenges of a constantly evolving world.
In the context of Social Urbanism, the discussions provided a broader view of the social transformations underway. It is worth remembering that in a country where around 8% of the population lives in slums, the search for solutions that integrate urban infrastructure, the strengthening of social ties and decent housing is more than imperative. In this sense, the meeting provided us with important insights that will certainly contribute to our projects for sustainable and inclusive urban transformation in the most vulnerable areas.
More than an event, the V20 Summit Brazil 2024 was a real milestone. A space to reflect, learn and, above all, act.
A unique opportunity to reinforce the Tellescom Foundation’s position as a relevant actor in the production of knowledge, helping to broaden social awareness, strengthen citizen participation and formulate fairer and more inclusive policies.
